A Better World: Heroes working for the greater good

The Professional Art Quilters Alliance-South (PAQA-South) sponsors this juried invitational show featuring art quilts of those who inspire us by making personal sacrifices to make the world a better place. They are persistent and dogged in their determination to lift, to save, to shed light, to inspire. They represent the very best of humanity. Sandy Teepen chose to honor fiber artist Alma Thomas, who rose beyond the segregated South to become the first woman of color to have a show at the Whitney Museum in New York and have her bold colorful abstract pieces displayed in the White House. All the invited pieces will be displayed on the exhibition website and 4o pieces will travel to various quilt festivals and museums across the country in 2020 and 2021.
